Parízek meets with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan on the sidelines of the V4+ Central Asian countries ministerial meeting

State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Lukáš Parízek, had a discussion with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Muzaffar Huseinzoda, on 27 February 2018.

 

During the talks they confirmed their interest in further developing mutual relations, with the emphasis on economic cooperation. The Tajik partner emphasized the important role of contact with the Slovak side within the EU and he also expressed the hope that the Slovak Republic will participate in the international conferences under preparation during this year, which are devoted to security and energy policy.

 

Slovakia supports Tajikistan in its fight against extremism and terrorism.  However, it also insists that human rights and the rule of law are to be observed also during these security operations.  Parízek informed the partner about the current and planned activities of the Slovak Republic within its Presidency in the Forum for Security Co-Operation and the OSCE next year.  

 

State Secretary Parízek appreciated the sincere bilateral interest in promoting common interpersonal contacts as well as in developing cultural activities between the countries.
