State Secretary Korčok in Vienna with partners from Austria and Czech Republic on cooperation within the Slavkov Format


Ivan Korčok, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, held talks in Vienna today (1 March 2018) with Michael Linhart, Secretary-General of the Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs of the Austrian Republic and Jakub Dürr, deputy minister of the Czech Ministry for European Affairs, as part of the Slavkov format (S3). The partners assessed the up-till-now evolvement of trilateral cooperation around joint projects implemented by the three neighbouring countries. They approved the 2018 Working Plan submitted by the S3 Austrian Leadership where the priorities remain to be collaboration in the areas of transport, dual education, energy and energy security, Industry 4.0, and the European affairs agenda. In this respect State Secretary Korčok stated: “The Slavkov Format is for us of high political value and importance. Therefore, it is necessary to transform the Working Plan into even more intense sectoral cooperation and to specific results.” The Austrian partner informed about their preparation for Austria’s upcoming presidency of the EU Council and of its priorities. In this regard, the S3 format was confirmed as a useful consultation platform to be used in the interest and prospect of success of the Austrian presidency.
