Parízek at the V4 + Central Asia meeting of foreign affairs ministers
State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Lukáš Parízek, participated in the first-ever meeting of foreign affairs ministers of the V4 and five Central Asian countries in Budapest today (27 February).
During the meeting the ministers confirmed their interest in further developing cooperation in the V4 + Central Asia format and appreciated the current high level of the relations between the EU and the region.
Geared toward reinforcing the existing cooperation of the EU and the Central Asian countries even more, they expressed interest in actively participating in formulating the new EU strategy for the region. The discussion focused on strengthening economic cooperation and connectivity.
”We will make efforts to eliminate the existing legislative, customs or transportation barriers to make trade cooperation between our countries even stronger,” stated Parízek.
The ministers also exchanged views on current global and regional foreign policy issues related to security and development, as well as the possible exchange of expertise in these areas.
